Fernway Culottes
The Fernway culottes are a full and flowy pant which wears like a skirt with in-seam pockets.
Sew comfortable, easy-to-wear, pleated front pants, with just the right amount of swish. With gorgeous deep pockets and plenty of options to choose from, this is a versatile, go-to pair of culottes for every occasion.
Pleats are strategically placed between the pockets to reduce fullness over the hips, and the contoured, flat-front waistband with channeled elastic back creates a perfect fit.

Suggested Fabrics:
Light-weight wovens are the easiest for a beginner: linen and cotton are highly recommended for your culottes, however, you could also use- chambray, double gauze, muslin, lawn and viscose rayon (these fabrics are a little bit tricky to work with for the beginner sewist).
Mid-weight wovens, such as- pinwale cord, velveteen, drill, and quilting cotton, suit the shorter lengths better.

Please note- students are required to supply their own fabric for this course.
The reason we ask students to bring their own fabric is because the look and feel of your pants is very personal to you, and should be something that you love, not something that we have chosen for you! Plus, the experience of shopping and choosing fabric is a fun learning experience for the beginner sewist.

Whilst making your beautiful culottes, you will learn:
- basic machine functions, such as threading the machine, how to adjust settings and select various stitches, machine sewing techniques and how to solve any problems that may pop up.
- beginner sewing terminology, about various sewing tools and equipment, simple pattern reading, fabric types and which project to use them for, cutting, pressing, and hand sewing skills. Many more things will be covered during the course.
